Meet Kara
Kara has been dancing in one form or another since she was 3 years old. While her professional ballet career was derailed by puberty, Kara never stopped loving dance and continued to perform in school plays and musicals. She went out to Colorado for college and on a whim, decided to tag along with a friend to her first belly dance class. Kara immediately fell head over heels in love with belly dance and one year later began teaching this exotic, low-impact dance form to her fellow college students.
After a long hiatus, Kara returned to studying, performing and teaching belly dance in 2005. She credits belly dance with helping her get back into shape and shedding over 45 lbs! Several of Kara’s students have also enjoyed the health benefits of belly dance—losing excess pounds, developing core strength, improving balance, coordination and most importantly, regaining a healthy self-image and sense of empowerment.
