Everyone knows that dance is an excellent way to develop long, lean muscles, balance and stamina while burning calories.  Bellydancercise combines the benefits of dance training with low-impact aerobic exercise set to the beat of exotic world music.

Students may also enjoy benefits not typically associated with an exercise class such as:

  • Body awareness
  • Friendships
  • Appreciation for world music
  • Increased attraction to glitter and sequins!

Bellydancercise students wear colorful, jingly hip scarves to accent their movements.  They use dance props like veils to help develop toned arms, grace and range of movement.  Most students wear comfortable jazz or yoga pants with multiple layers on top.

Each class includes a 10-minute warm up, 30 minutes of low-impact, high-energy dancing, 10 minutes of cool down followed by 10 minutes of stretching and core strengthening exercises.  Students learn fun combos that look equally great out on a dance floor or in the privacy of their living rooms.
